Sullivan Street Residence

Sullivan Street Residence

DHD had the pleasure of working on this Sullivan Street Residence in a new construction Greenwich Village condo building. The apartment needed only minor cosmetic work to bring the interior architecture of the space to life.  This 8-story modern building of steel and glass floor to ceiling windows allowed plenty of natural light to pour into the space, as well as fantastic views of the bustling neighborhood below. Two terraces that face both East and South round out the perfect environment of this home.

These active owners take full advantage of New York city dwelling by dining out most evenings, so we re-imagined an ancillary space off the kitchen as a cozy dining nook for those rare nights in.  Slipping the dining banquette into the hall allowed us to create two seating areas in the main living space for the owners who love to entertain.  The bright envelope of the living room allowed us to use a deep, bold color palette with umber accents and just the right amount of black metal.

The powder bathroom off the entry was the perfect place to have an unexpected moment with expressive wallpaper and a black leather studded mirror.  Back in the master bedroom, the rich color palette continues with deep blues and purples offset by custom silver-grey lightly textured wallpaper.  The water closet off the master bathroom is another jewel box with whimsical Fornasetti wallpaper and a black marble stool. Although the color palette of this apartment is more on the masculine side, the softness of the all the materials, silk rugs, window treatments makes it feel soft and welcoming.
